INSTRUCTIONS
Top Triangles (make 2): CH 10
This starting chain should be the length from the bottom of the breast to just above the nipple.
Adjust your starting chain, if needed.
HDC into the 2nd chain from the hook. 1 HDC in each CH to end of chain. Then work 3HDC into
the edge of the last ST. Mark the 2nd ST of the 3HDC. Then continue working along the opposite
side now. Turn.
CH 1. 1 HDC into next ST and in each ST up to the marked 2nd ST from the group of 3HDC., Place
3HDC into the marked ST and mark the 2nd ST, Continue HDC to the end *REP this process until you have reached your desired width to cover the breast. Once you are
happy fasten off. Mine is a width of 6”
Now you are going to SL ST to one of the side corners of the triangles and create your 1st “X”
Stitch. CH. 8, yo, pull up a loop in the 4th ch from the hook, yo, skip 2 hdc on the triangle, pull up
a loop in the next hdc, [yo & pull through 2 loops] 4 times. To finish the “X” stitch see pg. 1
under pattern stitches. REP the above “X” Stitch til you get to the top of the triangle. At the top
you will still create the “X” stitch but instead of skipping 2 hdc you will skip 1 hdc. Then
continue with the a “X” stitch pattern til you reach the end. Fasten off.
*REP this process again on the other triangle.
Piecing Together – You are now working up and down the sides of one triangle, connecting in
the middle, and then up and down the next one.
When piecing both triangles together make sure the beginning ends are facing out. SL ST to the
first end of the triangle. CH 1. *2 hdc inside the “X” stitch, 1 hdc between the “X” stitch. REP
from * til you reach the end of the triangle. Do not fasten off. Take your 2nd triangle and
connect by continuing this process til the end of the 2nd triangle. Turn.
CH 1. 1 HDC in each ST. Turn.
(At this point I started weaving in all my ends because it started getting alittle crazy:)
BODY BANDRow 1: CH. 1. 1 HDC in each ST. There should be a total of 6 hdc before you get to the triangle.
The amount of hdc along each triangle needs to be divisible by 3. (Mine was 21) Then CH.3 in
the middle and SL ST to the other end of the triangle. REP the same process over. Turn.
Row 2: CH. 1. 1 hdc in each st til the end. Turn.
Row 3: REP Row 2. Turn
Row 4: CH. 8, yo, pull up a loop in the 4th ch from the hook, yo, skip 2 hdc, pull up a loop in the
next hdc, [yo & pull through 2 loops] 4 times. To finish the “X” stitch see above. REP this til you
reach the end. Turn.
Row 5: CH 1. *2 hdc inside the “X” stitch, 1 hdc between the “X” stitch. REP from * til you reach
the end. The first and the last “X” stitch should have 3hdc inside instead of 2hdc. The amount of
hdc you get should be divisible by 3.
Row 6: CH 1. 1 HDC in each ST. Turn. Row 7: REP row 6. Turn.
Row 8: CH. 8, yo, pull up a loop in the 4th ch from the hook, yo, skip 2 hdc, pull up a loop in the
next hdc, [yo & pull through 2 loops] 4 times. To finish the “X” stitch see above. REP this til you
reach the end. Turn.
Row 9: CH 1. *2 hdc inside the “X” stitch, 1 hdc between the “X” stitch. REP from * til you reach
the end. The first and the last “X” stitch should have 1hdc inside instead of 2hdc this time. Turn.
Row 10: CH. 1 .* Skip 2 ST. (4 DC, Ch1, 4DC) Skip 2 ST, SL ST, REP from * til you reach the end of
the row. Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
STRAPS
SL ST to the top of the triangle CH 80. ,Turn SL ST all the way back down the chain into the
original space and secure it with a SL ST. Fasten off. REP this process for the other strap.
Adjustable Tie Back
Make a separate Chain 250, which will close the back. Weave the chain in and out on each side.
